AAUW GFT
The GFT bags motivate needy and homeless teens to seek essential services from local social Agencies. GFT gift duffles are an incentive for needy teens to attend holiday gift-giving events held by local Agencies where they can then access counseling, health care, housing help, job training, and complete their educational goals.
Teens and youth up to 24 years old are given full gift bags based on need as recommended by four local social service agencies.
Through Gifts for Teens many needy, homeless and underserved teens are supported by the San Jose community.
AAUW San Jose Volunteers
Each year over 80 ;AAUW San Jose Branch

GFT designated as a GIVING PARTNER by THRIVE
GFT is one of the select groups to which THRIVE donates. We are grateful to be named a Giving Partner this year.
GFT applies for the THRIVE grant each year and has been awarded products for the last 4 years because we serve low-income and homeless youth
We are grateful to be named as a Giving Partner by THRIVE
National Charity League, mom and daughter philanthropists, will co-ordinate and wrap fun cosmetics and also serve as volunteers in the fall to assemble all these wonderful products into
gift bags and duffles for GFT teens.
We have such efficient, enthusiastic groups to complete filling bags each year. This year we appreciate volunteers from several High Schools - Archbishop Mitty, Presentation, Bellarmine, St Francis, Pioneer, Leland Robotics Club. Several community groups - Alamaden Valley Women’s Club, The History Club, National Charity League Alamaden Blossom Valley Chapter, Xi Iota Zeta sorrority, AAUW - San Jose Branch and numerous individual volunteers.
We thank these volunteers, especially the teenagers, for their continued service and caring attitude.
Community Donatons
We are asking the community for donatons of $25 and $50 store gift cards from Target and Walmart - where teens can get food, hygiene products, and clothing. Kids can use the store gift cards to p
urchase what they most need and want.
Please Donate by using the donate button on the website.
The GFT committee is buying numerous other teen-loved gifts, such as sparkly nail polish, pajamas, warm beanies, sweat pants, and store gift cards, to include in the bags. We are accepting donations of cash for these purchases.
