THE PROBLEM
What happens at the Holidays to those needy teenagers in our community who are too old for a present from Toys for Tots drives? They can feel overlooked and left out.
That’s where Gifts for Teens comes in. We provide youth aged 13 to 24 in homeless shelters, foster care, and low income families with wonderful new gifts and a reason to celebrate at the holidays.
HOW WE HELP
Gifts for Teens creates and distributes Holiday gift duffels brimming with valuable, useful and fun teen items to needy Silicon Valley teenagers.
These teens are often alone and overlooked during the December holidays, receiving few or no gifts and not being included in festive holiday events.
Gifts for Teens provides community support by giving each teen personal gifts that they treasure and could not afford.
Our gift-filled new duffels are distributed at social service agency holiday events, helping at-risk teens access essential services like continuing education, housing, health care, counseling, and job training. This helps them advance to becoming self-sufficient and healthy adults.
For over 25 years the brimming GFT duffels have been very popular both with the agencies and with the teens who receive them. Teens getting our new duffels and totes feel supported, knowing their community cares about them and they are not alone, brightening their holidays.
