Los Gatos History Club raises $1,000


The Los Gatos History Club has generously supported GFT with a $1,000 donation to buy warm winter sweatshirts for Gifts for Teens. 


Each year, enthusiastic Club members volunteer to help fill bags in December.

   

In 2015 the Club hosted an event

               Whole Foods Market Blossom Hill raises $3,475

       Through Nickels For Non-Profits

      Through January, 2016 Whole Foods raised

       $3,475 from customers’ bags.

      From October, 2015 through January, 2016

      five cents was donated to GFT for every

      grocery bag brought in by customers.

      69,460 bags were brought  to the  store and

      redeemed for 5 cents each raising $3,475!

    Whole Foods, Blossom Hill also donates yummy

    snack bars for the 1300 teens each December

 Cisco Systems Donates over $8,000 

   


Cisco Systems has given us 650 sweatshirts and other fun items for the neediest teens we serve.  The value of their donation exceeds $8,000. Thank you Cisco for your continued support.

2016  Silicon Valley Gives Success


On May 3, GFT raises $9,000 on SVGives Day 

of Online Giving


For the third year in a row Gifts for Teens participated in !Silicon Valley Gives. May 3 was SVGives Day, 24 hours of online donations to local Bay Area nonprofits.


GFT raised over $9,000 online from the community. These online donations will fund duffel bags and sweatshirts - the most requested items by teens - for the needy teens of Silicon Valley. 


GFT had more participation this year, more donors who helped over 1300 local  needy teens with just a few clicks.

             2015 GFT raised $6,400 through SVGives Day

        and was ranked 24 out of 305 Small Income   
Nonprofits.


      2014 GFT participated in the first SVGives

       Day of Giving. $9,475 in cash donations was

        raised for sweatshirts for homeless teens.

NEW HOODED SWEATSHIRT: We want

to give each of the 1350 teens a new warm hooded sweatshirt. Through strong community

support this spring we are on our way to meet this goal for December, 2016.

 


      

     

Talbots at Valley Fair


      Talbots in Valley Fair Mall hosted an in-store event to benefit GFT on April 17. Talbot’s lovely fashions were displayed and refreshments were served as shoppers made their fashion choices. With the support of manager Tracy Osaki and her team Talbots contributed $500 to GFT as a result of the days event.

              Thank You Sacred Heart Community Services


Sacred Heart Community Service has made a special donation of school supplies and USB drives to encourage GFT teen’s future scholastic success. These educational supplies are included in every girl’s and boy’s gift totes.  Thank You Sacred Heart for you generous donations and continued support!

From 1997 through 2016, GFT has supported needy Silicon Valley teenagers with lovely useful gifts for the holidays.

We could not do this each year - for 19 years - without the support of our South Bay community.



Trombetta Foundation Donates $8,500

The S.D.Trombetta Foundation is underwriting purchase of essential duffels and girls’ tote bags with the donation of $8,500 to GFT.   Kudus for this generous family Foundation that has helped GFT extensively through the last 5 years. 

In 2015 they gave $6000 to buy 1,000  totes and duffels, in honor of Ruby Trombetta’s 100th Birthday!  A very big Thank You!



Hitachi Data Systems grant for $7,000

  Very pleased to announce that Hitachi Data Systems through their Community Action Committee, and active local team of volunteers, supports GFT with a grant of over $7,000.  The sweatshirt drive is well and successfully underway!  

Hitachi has been a generous supporter through several years. in 2015 $3,700 was donated for the purchase of warm, cozy sweatshirts. 

We thank the Community Action Committee for choosing GFT for this much needed grant donation.

 

Almaden Valley Singles Club donates $500

Almaden Valley Singles Club has donated $500 to buy apparel and fill bags with warm clothes kids love. Thank You for caring AVS members.

      $100,000 Neutrogena Cosmetics Gifts for use in 2016


The Neutrogena Corporation sent GFT 9 pallets of teen appropriate cosmetics valued at $100,000.  These beauty products are for assembly of the girl’s and boy’s totes. This abundant shipment supplied 2 cosmetic kits in every gift bag - a wildly popular gift item with the teens! Thank You Neutrogena for you genreous donations!
